"The Carnifroot walks and climbs fruit trees to pretend it's a fruit in between the other ones around it. When animals get near a fruit tree, it slowly inches towards the area where the creatures are eating, in hopes of being devoured. Once eaten, as it is broken apart, it secretes a powerful paralyzing agent that completely immobilizes and breaks down the host, preparing it to be absorbed by the plant. The secretion also aids in the reassembly of the eaten Carnifroot so it can begin feeding off its host. Once it emerges from the bowels of the carcass, it digs itself underground until it becomes hungry once again, when it runs back up a fruit tree to wait for its next victim."
