Once the prey is located, it extends its X shape as a mouth, engulfing all kinds of creatures whole. While it doesn't technically eat them, it drains power out of them, leaving them temporarily weak and vulnerable to other creatures in the area. It's been known on rare occasions to feed off magical items and people with supernatural abilities."
